Ex-Tottenham star and Real Madrid new kid get into a heated argument during the suspenseful match.

When Jan Vertonghen and Florian MBAPPE battled after France’s 1-0 victory over Belgium, the latter was called “classless” for making fun of the former’s inability to score his own goals.

After French country defeated Belgium in the Euro 2024 last-16, Mbappe, the masked marauder, dashed over to give the former Spurs defender the last word.

The two had initially became tense throughout the second half of a match that hardly ever lived up to great standards.

After Vertonghen challenged Mbappe, the player fell into the box and looked incensed by the 37-year-old’s reply.

Just before the new kid for Real Madrid attempted to turn, the center-back from Anderlecht had slipped out a leg from behind and gained possession of the ball.

Mbappe crashed to the ground, but Vertonghen appeared to feel that the former PSG striker’s collapse was a bit too dramatic and occurred a bit too late.

As they left, the hitman, not pleased with the words that had been said, kept yelling at his opponent.

Glenn Nyberg, the referee, stepped in to diffuse the tension.

However, Vertonghen’s situation worsened further in a cutthroat competition.

Furthermore, even though he was in the ideal spot for his tackle on Mbappe, he was not in the correct spot for the game-winning play later on.

Vertonghen was the one who diverted a late winner from France into his own goal after Randal Kolo Muani had fired a hard shot.

As Kolo Muani mishandled a left-footed attempt, he stuck out a knee, and the subsequent ricochet wrong-footed Belgian No. 1 Koen Casteels for the game’s lone goal.

However, supporters on social media pressed Uefa to “investigate” Mbappe for seemingly making fun of Vertonghen at that point.

The 25-year-old decided to approach the former Premier League star first before hopping up to join his teammates in celebration behind the net.

An observer commented, saying: “That’s awkward. Inconsiderate, particularly coming from the captain.”

“No need” and “stay classy” were two other internet verdicts.

The contentious actions of Jude Bellingham and Cristiano Ronaldo, two more celebrities, earlier in the tournament were also linked to the icon’s actions.

In their group opener, Portugal defeated the Czech Republic 2-1, and Ronaldo, 39, celebrated by pumping his fist towards Czech Republic custodian Jindrich Stanek and yelling in midfielder Petr Sevcik’s ear.

And after Bellingham’s incredible goal ignited England’s thrilling 2-1 victory in the round of 16, Uefa is looking into his apparent crotch-grabbing gesture towards the Slovakian bench.
