In his debut start for Spain at EURO 2024 against Albania, Arsenal player David Raya had a great performance.

The Spanish team started the last group stage match of EURO 2024 early this morning, June 25. Albania was their opponent, a side with little prospect of making it to the round of 16.

The Spanish squad made ten personnel changes after securing a spot in the following round. For this match, celebrities like Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal, and Unai Simon were all rested.

David Raya, Dani Olmo, and Ferran Torres took their places as replacements. When they performed brilliantly against Albania, none of them let the coaching staff down.

In addition to the Olmo and Torres combination that gave Spain the lead, David Raya made a lasting impression on the Spanish supporters.

The Arsenal player produced four outstanding saves, one of which including a diving stop on a close-range effort by Albanian striker Broja.

David Raya demonstrated his superb footwork with five well-placed long passes, in addition to being a valuable asset in keeping the home team from giving up goals. 

David Raya should be commended for his performance. In order to employ the Arsenal star in the round of 16 of the 2024 European Cup, coach Luis de la Fuente might even bench Unai Simon.
