It happened when Dan Ndoye, a forward for the other team, spun the defender and ran towards goal, but his shot went wide.Just as Tierney pulled the trigger, he seemed to put his foot on the ground in an odd way as he tried to get back up, and his knee appeared to have been over-extended.He soon fell to the ground in pain with what looked like a torn leg.
Scotland’s doctors rushed to the scene of the crime to treat him, but they quickly needed a stretcher to take the player back to the locker room while Scott McKenna took his place.
Tierney, who spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain, looked very upset as he was being taken away. He put his hands over his face as his teammates tried to comfort him.People who used to play or were fans quickly responded to the devastating blow.Steven Thompson, a former Scotland striker, told BBC Sportsound, “He’s done. He’s done his hamstring.”
This is bad news for Scotland.“That is really, really disappointing.””Kieran Tierney’s game is done,” said football player Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live.He knows when something is wrong because he’s been hurt so many times in his work. And that’s his hamstring gone for good.Fans quickly joined in to send their condolences to the much-loved ace.Someone wrote, “This made me cry.
Tierney just can’t seem to get a break.””May God bless Kieran””This doesn’t look good for Tierney man,” said someone else. We hope he didn’t hurt his ACL there.
“Come back better and stronger.”One third wrote, “Oh no.” Kevin Tierney. “You have a full hamstring.” Extended too far and gone again. I feel so bad for that guy. This season, the star has been hurt twice in the leg and had to miss two games.
In 2019, Tierney left his old team, Celtic, to play for Arsenal. In his first season there, Arsenal won the FA Cup.But since Oleksandr Zinchenko and then Jurrien Timber came to the Emirates in the last two seasons, his chances of making the first team have gone down.
In August of last year, it was said that the Gunners wanted £30 million for the former Celtic star before letting him go on loan. But he wasn’t a huge hit while on loan to Sociedad from 2023 to 2024; he only made 14 LaLiga starts.Arsenal is now ready to sell Tierney this summer for around £10 million. But being out of the game for a long time could ruin that.Arsenal have a tricky start to the season
