During a training crossing drill, Rudiger had hauled the striker down multiple times while the defender was attentively monitoring him.
After a particularly forceful challenge, Fullkrug reportedly started cursing at Rudiger while still on the ground.
The attacker then sprang up and moved in Rudiger’s direction, pushing the two players.
Sandro Wagner, the assistant coach, was then forced to step in and diffuse the tension.
Fullkrug had instructed one of the coaching staff members, Mads Buttgereit, to ‘simply blow the whistle’.

Earlier in the day, Fullkrug had praised Rudiger, calling him and fellow center-back Jonathan Tah “simply world class” during a press conference.
He reportedly stated, “We are very strong with them at the back,” according to the German Football Federation.
They are just top-notch and play with strength and energy. It is quite challenging to go beyond them.
Being able to have them both on the pitch feels great.
We are really fortunate to have a strong defence. It provides us with a strong defence.
Scotland will play the opening match of Euro 2024 on Friday night, with hosts Germany hosting.
Later on, Julian Nagelsmann’s team will play Switzerland and Hungary in an attempt to advance past the group stages.
