Jude Bellingham’s display during the Champions League championship game
Real Madrid defeated Dortmund 2-0 in the Champions League final thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius in the second half. Though Jude Bellingham is new to “Los Blancos” and this is his first season there, it is the club’s fifteenth title overall and the sixth for a bunch of seasoned players like Nacho, Carvajal, Kroos, and Modric.
In a brief interview following the game, Bellingham seemed very distraught. “This match is everything I have always dreamed about. There are many in life who would tell you that you are incapable of achieving your goals and that your dreams will never come true. However, moments like this one serve as a reminder that pursuing our goals is worthwhile,” he declared.
“I shed tears at seeing my folks. On several evenings, they would stay outside until midnight solely for me to have football practice rather than returning home after 7pm for dinner and sleep. Having them as role models has made me want to be a better person for my younger brother. It’s the greatest night of my life, and I have my parents and sister at my side tonight.”
Bellingham’s seniors have taken home the trophy five or six times, but for them, the most important thing is to celebrate a win, especially against a side like Real Madrid that plays under constant pressure. We never know when these kinds of experiences may come around again, so we should cherish them while we can. Being at the pinnacle of achievement should always be cherished, according to Bellingham.
People don’t truly realise how tough it is to play for Real Madrid; in addition to having to win, we also have to balance our personal and professional lives. Even if we were fortunate to win the game, winning requires thorough planning so that we are prepared to seize the moment when it presents itself. Real Madrid requires dedication and the fortitude to handle pressure, so winning is not an easy feat.”
Coach Carlo Ancelotti declared that he will stay up late celebrating with his students tonight. “As usual, this match was tough; we performed well in the second half while the opposition played well in the first. That is the club’s history and tradition, and I’m honoured to have carried it on with the players. I am really appreciative of the team and the players; despite playing for Real Madrid, they don’t take themselves too seriously and are just trying to make a name for themselves,” he said.
“I’m thrilled to be leading this squad; we’ve had a great season and nothing is difficult for them.” We’re not going to sleep tonight so we can properly enjoy.”
After an extremely successful campaign, Dortmund was denied the opportunity to win the championship, and coach Edin Terzic said he felt “empty” following the game. I’m at a loss for words; not only did we play well today, but we also learned why Real Madrid has won the title 15 times. They are efficient, but we are not; they are driven to succeed and pay close attention to even the slightest aspects,” Terzic said.
It’s hard to reflect on the past 12 months, but I’m proud of the players. Although this game demonstrated our abilities, I still feel empty about the chances we lost. Dortmund only lacks consistency.”
Dortmund will be saying farewell to a number of players after this final, not just Marco Reus. “The dressing room is a very emotional atmosphere,” stated coach Terzic. After this game, a few of my teammates will depart from the team. It’s unfortunate that they can’t appreciate the outcome, but I’m really proud of them for persevering throughout the season.”
Given that his loan with Manchester United is coming to an end, Jadon Sancho might be one of the players departing Dortmund. “I don’t know if Sancho can return to the club, but I am very happy to work with him,” said coach Terzic. Although the future is unpredictable, I think Sancho will participate in another Champions League final.”
