Right on the front page of Sport and Style – a special publication of L’Equipe newspaper, Arsene Wenger surprised fans with his never-before-seen fashion style. Classic and elegant, very suitable for the leader who people still call “Professor”.
Arsene Wenger wears rather informally, which has occasionally led to criticism that he is unattractive, in contrast to strategists like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho who favor formality and dress appropriately and trendy. Both Arsenal supporters and players have become accustomed to Wenger’s image over the last ten years as a straightforward, unflashy figure.
But on Sport and Style last weekend, no one could criticize the Professor. Wenger appeared in exquisitely designed suits and long coats with scarves, giving him a style that was both classic and elegant. So will this be Wenger’s new style or is it just worn by him to… pose in front of the cameras of Sport and Style?
In this issue of L’Equipe, in addition to showing off impressive new images, Wenger also took time to share about his life and work. Talking about his absolute power at Arsenal, the French coach said: “I only play the role of a guide, I allow my students to show whatever abilities they have. I don’t create anything, I’m just someone who brings out the beauty in every person.”
