When his Borussia Dortmund loan agreement expires next month, JADON SANCHO has no intention of going back to Manchester United.
Additionally, the Champions League semifinalist is prepared to start negotiations with the Red Devils on a longer stay in Germany.
Dortmund is aware that it is doubtful they will have the funds available to sign the 24-year-old to a long-term contract this summer.
They thus want to inquire about the prоspect of signing him for an additional year, with the option or duty to purchаse at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season.
Sancho was signed by United for £73 million in the summer of 2021 from the German powerhouses, but he never lived up to that cost.
Following a loss at Arsenal in August, he had a falling out with Erik ten Hag after the latter turned to social media to complain that he was being used as a scapegoat for the team’s shortcomings.
When the Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq attempted to sign him, they were quoted almost £50 million and backed out; as a result, he was frozen out for the remainder of the year.
He was given the opportunity to rejoin Dortmund and start reestablishing his career, though, when the transfer window reopened in January.
He did just that and made an impression during this week’s victory against Paris Saint-Germain, which sparked rumors that he would make a comeback to Old Trafford.
It is believed, nevertheless, that he would be amenable to the notion of remaining in Germany, regardless of who manages United the following campaign.
At the end of the season, Ten Hag’s situation is probably going to be evaluated by new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Earlier this week, Ten Hag expressed his satisfaction with Sancho’s performance in the close first-leg victory over PSG.
“It demonstrated why United purchased him and why he represents a high value for Manchester United,” the man stated.
“I’m glad for Jadon, and we’ll see what happens down the road.”
