Arsenal’s first goal was scored thanks to the ingenious technique of the defender.
BEN WHITE has been praised by fans for his astute display of gamesmanship prior to Arsenal’s first goal against Spurs.
The Arsenal defender attempted to disrupt the composure of Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as the Gunners readied themselves to take a corner in the North London Derby.
Ben White pestered Gugliemo Vicario at a corner by trying to undo his gloves
It helped too as Arsenal scored from the resulting corner
White stood alongside Vicario and, in addition to the typical physical altercation, he seemed to attempt to remove the goalkeeper’s gloves.
Vicario attempted to dislodge White twice, but the Gunners star tenaciously held his ground and eventually succeeded due to his relentless and bothersome efforts.
Arsenal quickly scored from the subsequent corner as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg unintentionally directed the ball into his own net, leaving Vicario unable to save it.
White’s cunning strategies were highly appreciated by fans, who started cheering his deceitful actions.
One said: “Ben white you absolute madman ”
Another added: “This guy is a pest ”
A third wrote: “Ben White s***housery on the opposing goalkeepers is brilliant. Love him.”
And another commented: “He is so good at this. Leaves the crime scene before the goal.”
Arsenal clearly did their homework from set-pieces as Kai Havertz also headed in from a corner at the near post to make the score 3-0.
That came after the Gunners added a brilliant second on the counter-attack as Havertz’s long ball found Bukayo Saka who cut in and slotted in a low left-footed finish.
