BEN WHITE has been lauded by fans for a creative piece of gamesmanship before Arsenal’s opening goal versus Spurs.
The Arsenal defender tried to unsettle Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as the Gunners prepared to take a corner during the North London Derby.
Ben White pestered Gugliemo Vicario at a corner by trying to undo his gloves
It helped too as Arsenal scored from the resulting corner
White stood next to Vicario and as well as the usual pushing and shoving, he appeared to try to undo the keeper’s gloves.
Twice Vicario tried to push White off but the Gunners star remained persistent and his pestering paid off.
Seconds later Arsenal opened the scoring from the resulting corner as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg headed into the back of his own net, with Vicario helpless.
Fans loved White’s underhand tactics and began applauding his deviousness.
One said: “Ben white you absolute madman 💀😂”
Another added: “This guy is a pest 😹”
A third wrote: “Ben White teased on the opposing goalkeepers is brilliant. Love him.”
And another commented: “He is so good at this. Leaves the crime scene before the goal.”
Kai Havertz also scored a goal from a corner at the near post to make the score 3-0, demonstrating that Arsenal had done their homework from set pieces.
That happened after Havertz’s long pass found Bukayo Saka, who cut in and finished low with his left foot to give the Gunners a wonderful second on the counterattack.
