One of the hottest players in world football right now, Vini Jr., appears on the cover of GQ Brazil’s January issue. The Real Madrid and Brazil national team striker spoke up on a variety of tasty and embarrassing subjects from his life both on and off the pitch, including his love of tattoos.
Vini was featured in an exclusive picture session and gave the interview with GQ Esporte Clube via video conference from his residence in Madrid, Spain. With every goal the Spanish side scored, a model with easy grace appeared in front of the cameras.
With less than a month until the World Cup, the 22-year-old attacker named Brazil’s top competitors for Hexa. He is coming off a flawless season at Real Madrid, where he finished with 22 goals, including the game-winning goal against Liverpool in the Champions League final, and 20 assists. He has great aspirations for the future.
“I have to do more to raise the standard of football in the modern day. Look at Mbappé and Karim [Benzema], who scored over 40 goals between them in the previous season. To be on that shelf, you have to play the game a lot, either with assistance or a goal,” he stated.
The attacker went on to say that he enjoys the pressure to perform well for Real Madrid and the Brazilian team. Pressure helps you stay focused and involved, especially when you’re playing at a top level like in Europe. “There is one thing: pressure indicates that you can deliver more,” he added.
Vini Jr. is involved off the field as well. In addition to the social center he operates in Rio de Janeiro, he says naming a school in his honor would be one way to improve Brazilian society. “Brazil is a great place to produce football players. There’s one around every turn. More training is required for educators and medical workers.
