Declan Rice received a pair of specially created boots from Frank Lampard, a highly respected figure in England, in honor of his accomplishment of winning 50 caps for his nation.
Rice, who is currently 25 years old, has been an essential member of Gareth Southgate’s national team, known as the Three Lions, since his debut in 2019. He played a key role in leading England to both the 2020 Euro Final and the 2022 World Cup quarterfinals in Qatar.
England icon Frank Lampard gave Declan Rice a pair of specially crafted boots.
To commemorate his 50th cap for the Three Lions, Lampard gave Rice the custom Adidas boots.
To mark Rice’s 50th appearance for the England national team, Lampard gave him the specially designed Adidas shoes.
Despite the absence of other players, Rice participated in the entire 90 minutes of Southgate’s team’s friendly matches against Belgium and Brazil last week.
The Arsenal player received the captain’s armband from Southgate during Tuesday’s match against Domenico Tedesco’s squad, with regular captain Harry Kane sitting out with an ankle injury.
In addition to being given the opportunity to captain the team for his 50th England match, Rice—who had previously been captain of West Ham—was also recognized for this accomplishment.
Before the game, Lampard, a former England midfielder who made 106 appearances for his nation between 1999 and 2014, paid Rice a visit. The visit, which was sponsored by Adidas, was intended to give Rice a unique pair of boots.
Rice donned the custom boots to Tuesday’s 2-2 draw between England and Belgium at Wembley.
The boot had the national flag splashed across the custom design, along with the English colors of red, white, and blue with a 50 caps inscription on the side.
The English colors of red, white, and blue were combined with a special 50 caps phrase on the side to create the custom adidas Copa boot design, which also included the national flag embossed on it.
After handing Rice the boots, Lampard had a little conversation with the Arsenal player and gave him kudos for pulling off the victory.
He said that Declan shouldn’t undervalue this achievement. “Playing for your country is the goal of every young football player, so earning 50 caps is a truly remarkable achievement.”
“As they get ready for the Euros, I’m excited to see what the summer holds for him and this young team.”
Echoing the same feelings, Rice went on, “Reaching this milestone is a massive achievement for me.”
“It’s truly amazing to reach 50 caps; those who are near me understand the significance of playing for my nation.” I can’t wait to wear my new boots on the field to mark the event.
Rice said, “I’m still s/h/o/c/k/e/d at how many times I’ve played for the Three Lions,” during his chat with Lampard.
He went on, “I don’t think you ever do—try hitting 50 caps.” But you have to be there every time you play because if you are in it and doing well, you could be chosen from among many excellent players.
Furthermore, you have to gain the trust of the managers—I have worked in setup for five or six years—pretty much all of them. Achieving my 50th cap will be a huge accomplishment for me.
“It’s crazy to have my own custom boot.” Owning a boot would never even cross your mind, especially for your 50th hat. I’m at a loss for words because I own a pair of the distinctive boots that you tend to associate with Ballon d’Or winners.
Rice participated in the full ninety minutes of England’s 2-2 tie with Belgium, when Youri Tielemans scored a brace for the visitors and goals from Ivan Toney and Jude Bellingham allowed England to fight back twice.
Lampard, who captained England for 106 times, praised the midfielder for Arsenal for his accomplishment.
Rice also expressed his shock at receiving a customized boot to commemorate this achievement.Rice also expressed his shock at receiving a customized boot to commemorate this achievement.
Speaking on Monday after being named England’s captain for the encounter, Rice, who represented the Republic of Ireland in three games as a young player in 2018, talked about how great it would be to lead his country.
Seated behind Southgate at a press conference, he said, “I am speechless and at a loss for words.”
When Southgate informed me last night that I would be captain, I gave him a hug, shook his hand, and said, “Thank you very much.”
I’ve owed him a lot ever since I joined the team. He has always made me feel comfortable, which is why I have always felt so at ease playing under him.
“I have really grown in confidence, so it is an absolute honor to walk out at Wembley on my 50th cap in front of my family and friends.”
I have to admit that I am at a loss for words.
England’s pre-Euro 2024 friendlies against Iceland and Bosnia-Herzegovina are scheduled for June. Their last friendlies were against Belgium and Brazil.
The Three Lions will play Serbia in the event on June 16. Slovenia and Denmark are also members of England’s group.
