Prior to their Premier League match against Aston Villa, Arsenal held their final training session without Gabriel Magalhaes and Jakub Kiwior.
After Man City defeated Luton Town 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium, Mikel Arteta’s team fell to second place in the Premier League. In round 33 of the 2023–24 Premier League, if Arsenal defeats Aston Villa, they have an opportunity to take the top spot again.
Before the game against Unai Emery’s club, coach Mikel Arteta appeared to be dealing with two headaches as a result of injuries sustained on defense. After missing Arsenal’s training session on Friday due to an Achilles injury he has been suffering from for the previous month, Gabriel Magalhaes did not show up with his colleagues for the final warm-up before the Emirates Stadium encounter.
Kiwior was also absent from the most recent Arsenal training session. Kiwior was replaced at halftime during the team’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich. With Gabriel out, Takehiro Tomiyasu should be able to fill in at center defense, with Oleksandr Zinchenko playing on the left wing.
Douglas Luiz, an important midfield player for Aston Villa, will be absent due to suspension when they travel to Arsenal. With 60 points, Emery’s club is now tied with Tottenham for fourth place in the Premier League, but has a better goal differential. However, in their last five Premier League games, Aston Villa has only managed one victory.
