Ten years ago, Gabriel Jesus dreamed of combining his artistic training with a career in professional soccer.
As Brazil prepared to host the 2014 World Cup, the 27-year-old new signing for Arsenal was seen painting on the streets of his Sao Paulo neighborhood while still a youngster. Jesus was playing for the Palmeiras youth squad when he was seventeen years old and painting on the streets of São Paulo. He had a paintbrush in his hand. This is a component of a regional celebration of the country’s 2014 World Cup hosting. Therefore, Jesus was content with his neighborhood in Jardim Peri and added his own touches to make a place known for its poor housing quality seem better.
Jesus celebrates his hometown by getting a tattoo of a little child with a soccer ball under his arm, looking back at his old neighborhood. He was motivated to focus on his career from the age of eight to fourteen by the football team Pequeninos do Meio Ambiente in the adjacent city of Tremembe.
Because he cannot afford to ride the bus, he practices every Saturday for an hour and a half by walking in his old soccer shoes and flip-flops. Perhaps that eight-mile ride helped mold him into the committed and hardworking player he is today.
.
His former Guilherme de Almeida State University principal suggested him consider a profession in biology after he passed the exam with flying colors. He chose football, though.
He scored 37 goals in 22 games to help Palmeiras win the 2014 u17 state championship. Top European teams had already noticed his talent by then, but academy life would have to wait. Jesus made numerous appearances off the bench throughout his 37 appearances across all competitions, scoring 7 goals, after being promoted to the Palmeiras first squad in 2015. Next year is going to be even better. During his 46 games, he scored 21 goals. More importantly, he will help Palmeiras win their first championship in 22 years.
The striker made his national team debut, scoring twice, at the end of 2016 after landing a spectacular trade to Manchester City in Europe. I was nineteen years old when all of this happened. Jesus’ amazing climb and subsequent feats for Man City led Pep Guardiola to label him as “the best in the world.”
After a successful career at Manchester City, Jesus moved to Arsenal FC in July of 2022. He maintained his striker skills at Arsenal, boosting the team’s offensive potency and acclimating to the new style.
Among Gabriel Jesus’ most noteworthy accomplishments at the club are:
Four titles in the Premier League (20/21, 18/19, 17/18, 21/22)
One-time English FA Cup Winner (2019)
Four-time winner of the English League Cup (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
The English Suρer Cup champion twice (in 2019 and 2020)
One-time Brazilian victor (2016)
2015 was the only Brazilian Cup champion.
