Harry Kane of Bayern Munich was angrily criticized by Arsenal supporters for allegedly elbowing Gabriel.
The former Tottenham striker was a part of an unpleasant event that happened at the Emirates during the second half of the teams’ Champions League match. Gabriel, a Brazilian defender, slumped to the ground in agony after Kane seemed to fling out his arm during a brawl.
When the referee saw the event, he gave the England captain a yellow card instead of the red one that the home supporters were asking for. Following the altercation, fans were critical of Kane on social media.
“Harry Kane still up to his old tricks, eh?,” one supporter remarked. With a terrible tackle that nearly ended Florian Lejeune’s career, he is regarded as a saint by many.
Another said: “Elbow was absolutely deliberate from Kane, who has real form for that sort of snide stuff, but almost never gets called on it because of the England stuff.”
A further fan wrote: “Kane is a nasty, nasty footballer. Took a look for where Gabriel was and gave him a straight elbow to the face,” while another said: “Every Arsenal supporter knows that Harry Kane is that kind of player. He looked where Gabriel was and popped him with an elbow in the neck/jaw. Despicable player. Has always been one. Tries to hurt defenders.”
The alleged elbow was not the only incident that had left Gunners’ fans irritated during the clash. Kane had scored the goal that saw Bayern completed a rapid first-half comeback at the Emirates.

Arsenal took the lead in the 12th minute through Bukayo Saka, but six minutes later, former Gunners academy graduate Serge Gnabry equalized. Shortly after the half-hour mark, Kane scored from the penalty spot.
Against Arsenal, the striker continued his incredible goal-scoring streak. In just 20 games across all competitions, it was his 15th goal of the career versus the Gunners.
Throughout his career, Kane has only scored more goals versus Leicester and Everton. He is eager to break that record in the second leg at the Allianz Arena the following week.
They made sure they were level after the first leg, even though Kane left many in North London unhappy. The Gunners equalized by Leandro Trossard, securing a 2-2 draw. Next Wednesday, Arsenal travels to Bavaria. In the semifinals, the victor of the match will play either Real Madrid or Manchester City.
