GIFT OF THE GAB: Close-up footage reveals the ‘crazy’ moment Arsenal should have conceded against Bayern, but the referee refuses to penalize the ‘childish mistake’

Following the game, Thomas Tuchel disclosed what the referee had informed him.

When the referee “admitted” that he had seen a blatant handball in the box against Bayern Munich, Arsenal should have been awarded a second penalty.

After asserting that whistleblower Glenn Nyberg had acknowledged witnessing the strange event, manager Thomas Tuchel was left feeling bewildered.

On the field, he acknowledged that he observed the circumstance and that a penalty for a child’s error in a quarterfinal is insufficient.

Thus, he acknowledged that he is aware of the error the player committed.

That is a little annoying.

Tuchel, 50, later said in his press conference following the game: “I felt like a lot of tiny decisions went against us. and a grave error in not penalizing us.

“The pitch’s explanation is what really enrages us. That means he’s judging handballs.”

Rio Ferdinand, a TNT Sports pundit, was shocked to watch the footage of the event. The former Manchester United player felt that Bukayo Saka’s collision with Manuel Neuer in the box in the last minute should have resulted in a penalty for Arsenal.

When he watched the video of Bayern’s penalty yell, though, he became even more disbelieving.

It is a pen,” he remarked. How could that not be granted, oh my god?

I firmly believed that the Saka one was… I’m even more in favor of this—it’s amazing!

“How can he blow the whistle like that and not give it?”

“INDEFENSIBLE”
The 45-year-old Ferdinand then asked Martin Keown, a former Arsenal defender, to attempt to defend the choice.

“You can’t defend the indefensible,” retorted Keown, 57. Perhaps the referee is a little inexperienced.

“Because we thought he had a decent game, but there’s key moments of the game, both you can look at and say they should have had a penalty.”It was also unlucky for Bayern not to receive a penalty for another incident, in which Martin Odegaard wrestled Kane to the ground as a corner was whipped in.

Saka’s goal in the 12th minute gave Arsenal the lead, setting up a perfect start to their first Champions League quarterfinal since 2010.

But, they were swiftly brought back to earth when, six minutes later, former Gunner Serge Gnabry equalized by taking advantage of a defensive blunder.

Shortly after the break, Kane returned to torment Arsenal, winning the penalty that Bayern did manage to win.

Leandro Trossard, a super-sub for Mikel Arteta, was able to save the situation by tying the score in the 76th minute.

Arteta declined to be drawn for his team’s late penalty appeal following the game.”The referee said nothing,” he remarked. They claimed to have examined it and determined there was no punishment.”

The tie will be decided when the two teams play again in Germany on Wednesday.
